Episode Thirteen: Welcome Back Liz
Going through the closets I grabbed Nick's largest luggage carrier and stuffed all my clothes and everything I had in it. Walking out to my car I threw it in the trunk and drove to the airport.
Glancing at the clock it was already midnight and moon shined brightly in the sky. The streets and freeways were nearly empty so I had a quick drive to the airport.
Pulling into the parking lot, I grabbed my stuff, headed for the elevator, and sprinted for the Northwest American Airlines desk.
"May I help you ma'am?" the person behind the counter asked.
"Yes I'd like a one way ticket to San Francisco, earliest flight you have possible please," I said politely.
She did a little typing," You're in luck someone just cancelled and we have a seat available. The flight leaves in an hour."
"I'll take it,"
"Name please,"
"Elizabeth Centera,"
She did more typing and printed up my ticket. Smiling I handed her the money and grabbed the ticket. Running to the terminal I made it in time.

A few hours later
"Please fasten your seatbelts and wait patiently as we descend upon SFO," the captain said through the speakers. I stared out the window and saw the bay pass by and saw the city lights well lit.
It felt good to be home.
My head was still throbbing as I walked off the plane. My ears were still adjusting and popping occasionally. Walking over to the line of pay phones I dialed my parents' number.
"Hello?"
"Daddy? It's me Liz,"
"Liz? Haven't heard from you in a long time. How are you doing?" he asked in a perky tone that killed me inside.
"I'm doing fine. I know this was unexpected but i'm in San Francisco right now and I just wanted to tell you to i'll be there,"
"You're here right now?"
"Yeah, I know but I wanted to suprise you and mommy,"
"Okay then,"
We said our goodbyes and I went over to pick up my luggage and rent a car. The drive was nice and long from San Francisco to the south bay. Flipping on the radio I nearly curved the car off the road when I heard 'Show me the meaning of being lonely' being played.
Cussing at the radio as soon as Nick's voice filled the car and I immediately changed it only to find the opening notes to 'All I have to Give' playing. Sighing I flipped it back to the previous channel.
I finally saw the 'Welcome to Concord' sign and fifteen minutes later I did a couple of turns and I saw that magnolia tree indicating my house. The house i've lived in when I was a little girl.
Getting out of the car and getting my stuff from the trunk I nervously knocked on the window and saw my mom fixing the table and my dad heading for the door.
"Hi daddy," I said taking him into a hug and doing the same to my mom.
"Oh Liz, it's so good to see you! Want anything to eat?" My mom said pointing at the luscious food on the table.
"Yeah airplane food is horrible," I remarked going for the food and eating like a mad woman. I gulped down all the food in a minute.
"So why are you here?" my mom asked.
"I just wanted to come visit and yeah... just needed a vacation,"
"What about school?" my dad asked.
Shit, I thought. They don't know I quit after I met Nick.
"It's going good but I have this semester off," I said doing a fake yawn, "Do you think I can rest, i'm really tired from the flight."
"Sure,"
Following my mom to my old room, the moment I stepped inside memories came flooding back to me. Funny things like when i'd sing my heart out at night or stay inside watching T.V.
When I was a little girl and some of my teenage life, I really had no social life. I liked being alone and was a shy girl back then. It wasn't until I was a senior is when I started opening up a bit.
After I unpacked my things, I changed into my pajamas and hopped into bed. I laid in bed for a few moments, this was the first time Nick wasn't here with me. I started to regret leaving him like that but that feeling went away as soon as I remembered him leaving me.
