Epilogue
Ceserelle was sitting in chair gazing at the ocean scenery before her, just thinking about everything, life in general. It had been a tough journey but she managed to get through it. At first her family and Nick's were resentful of them for a while. As time went though, it help eased the tension. It still felt odd to be around them but they stopped thinking about themselves for a moment.
It was especially tough for her father to deal with this since he loved Colin a lot and was looking forward to having him as a son. He still hasn't gotten over it and once in while he'd insist Colin is the one for her. She'd joke around and say, "Well then why don't you marry him?"
She hasn't seen Colin since the day they were supposed to get married. From what she heard, he requested reassignment to a base in San Diego and hasn't come back to visit.
Now that she was with Nick freely she felt like a new person. She sure was less stressed and got headaches less frequently. It was great, she was purely content with herself for the first time in her life. She was living her life for her and not her family, the way it should have been from the start.
Marriage was something she and Nick talked about. They felt it was just too soon for a wedding. Plus Nick had his career as a Backstreet Boy, a thing Ceserelle really never gave much thought to. It was better for them to take things slow and enjoy.
Ceserelle decided she wanted to ditch her apartment and move in with Nick. It was spontaneous and she didn't believe in living with boyfriends till now. Nick just happened to be an exception to her rule.
Everything that has happened made her a stronger person. She was just glad she followed her heart and picked the other Carter.
