Sarah Hampton sat back in her black Lexus Es 400, tapping on the steering wheel. It was five o'clock which meant it was rush hour. Being stuck in traffic wasn't exactly happy hour for her but ever since she got her job at Real Estate Inc. She's been juggling between her job, college and raising her baby boy as a single mother.
If her parents weren't filthy rich she didn't know where she would be. She was lucky enough that houses in L.A. weren't that high priced. Sarah was obviously *the rich kid.* It was very easy for her to get anything she wanted since she was an only child. Her parents are both professionals.
Sandra Hampton, her mother, was a nurse in the Philippines and went to the University of Manila. Her father, Dr. Stuart Hampton Ph.D., was a graduate of Oxford University. They met when Sandra went abroad to nurse in England when she met Stuart and long story short they got married and had Sarah.
After breaking out of traffic she drove down the street and to her house which was on the corner. Even though Sarah was just twenty years old, she lived like she was thirty. She has always been the mature person and takes almost everything seriously. Pulling into her driveway, she set the alarm on her car and went into her house.
Throwing her portfolio onto the couch she took the chopsticks that held her hair together and ran up the stairs to check on her son Ethan who was just three years old. She loved her son very much and he was the only thing that made her life bright.
"Look mommy's home," her best-friend Valarie said.
Valarie Sanchez was the only person in the world Sarah could connect with. Valarie has been with Sarah through thick and thin and always helped her when she needed help. That's why when they both graduated they decided they'd live together so Valarie could help raise Ethan.
Ethan dropped his toy down, and ran towards Sarah. Kneeling down Sarah captured her son and took him into her arms. She cracked a smile just seeing him smile brightly at her, he was just a big ball of energy. Everytime Sarah was feeling sad and depressed she'd just look at her son and a smile would appear on her face.
"Mommy.. mommy, I mwissed woo," he said in his baby voice.
"I missed ya too, Ethan," she said giving him a kiss on the forehead.
"Gosh Sarah you look so exhausted," Valarie commented.
"I know, i'm soooooo tired and hungry but I have to pay the bills and college and all that stuff,"
"Come on downstairs, I cooked some food," said Valarie
Not to mention Valarie is a killer cook.
The three of them made their way downstairs. Sarah set Ethan down in front of the t.v. to play Sega. Even though he was just three years old that little boy was just obsessed with video games.
Sarah and Valarie made their way to the kitchen and Sarah sat down in the chair putting her head in her hands. She was really tired and her head was hurting.
"Sorry to break it to you, but I think one of these days you're going to run into a brick wall if you don't calm yourself down. I think you just need a little vacation," Valarie said as she grabbed the chicken she cooked from inside the microwave and setting it in front of Sarah.
"No thank you, I have to make my parents proud, make money, and raise my child properly,"
"You could raise him properly if you'd tell his father he had a son, maybe he could help you."
Sarah sighed, her and Valarie had this conversation one too many times. She knew she couldn't tell Nick, how could she, she had no idea where he was and she hasn't seen him after he became the big star that he is.
"It's just not possible, Nick made it perfectly clear that he doesn't need me and damn it I don't need him I mean i've got you right?" Sarah said trying to reason.
"Me? Yes you do have me but pretty soon Ethan over there is going to start to get curious like all little children get and is going to wonder why he doesn't have a daddy,"
"It isn't easy though..... uhhh what am I saying? Lets not talk about it anymore, I don't need this right now,"

"What do you mean you're going to California for a while?" Lena asked Nick.
Pacing the deck of the patio of his Florida state he stopped and looked her in the eye. Even though they've been only seeing each other for a short time, they already were living together. The only reason Nick was in this relationship was so he could get his mind off of *S.* He refused to even acknowledge her name.
"My family's over there in L.A, I need to visit them damn it, they think I don't care about them anymore and it's pissing them off and it's pissing me off,"
"But what about me?" she asked pouting.
Nick rolled his eyes, it was always about *her.* "You, you stay here and watch over my house while i'm gone, then when the time is right i'll fly you down to California,"
"Why can't we go together?" she asked.
"Do you want the press to see us together at the airport? Do you want tabloids to print our picture all over the place? Huh do you want that? Do you-,"
"Okay, okay I get it! Geez..," she said.
"Good cause i'm leaving tonight."
