Nick managed to convince Brian to lend his car to him. He drove the long distance to Kayla's apartment while rage ran through him. He was so angry he didn't even know what was happening to him. His body was set on automatic, letting his body take over him.

When he arrived, he peaked through her apartment window. There was his Kayla sleeping soundly. He didn't understand why she wouldn't love him back. He had everything to offer to her, himself, his hospitality, and his eternal love.

No one seemed to love him back. All he wanted was to be loved and all he got was nothing. Kayleigh was supposed to be his forever until she started going to college and he was busy touring. She met another man, who was much better than he was. Nick did all he could to keep their love alive but she drifted away from him.

They were supposed to be destined to be with each other and he couldn't bare the thought of her loving another so he killed her. Then he found Kayla. Nick searched everywhere for another love and then he found her. Instead Kayla rejected him, thinking he was crazy when it was just an act of love.

Using the credit card trick again he entered her apartment. It was so warm inside and it possessed her intoxicating scent. He breathed in relishing in the scent. Standing over her body, he held the gun in his hand. The safety was off, ready to shoot.

Cassie Parker felt a weird presensce. She could feel the evil so pure and it sent cold shivers up her spine. Cassie knew it wasn't her business to know what was going on with her young neighbor Kayla Deveraux. She had spoken to Kayla on some occassions and she was a very sweet girl. Kayla was a shy girl who kept to herself and spent most of her time in her apartment listening to music or reading outside as the sun set.

For the past week though she hadn't seen Kayla doing those things. Her car has been in the parking lot appearing to have not gained any mileage. She hadn't seen Kayla performing her routine. Perhaps she went on went on a trip Cassie speculated. Last time she spoke to Kayla she remembered her talking about how money was tight for her especially since she didn't have a job and lived off her parents' money so that when September comes around she could go attend college here.

Tonight though she felt something so wrong. She tried to get rid of the nagging feeling but as the minutes passed the evil that surrounded grew stronger. An evil spirit was here. Lighting a candle, she sat down at her table. Closing her eyes she saw a tortured soul.

A young lady, dead. A young man, alive. A young lady, revenge. A young man, confused.

FLASHBACK

"Kayleigh I love you, you can't leave me I need you," Nick pleaded.

"Nick, I don't love you anymore. You're never here for me and you're always somewhere else other than here," Kayleigh said sadly.

"Give me a chance. I love you!"

"I've already done that. It's not like what it used to be Nick, when it was just you and me."

Nick stood there, tears fighting to break out and his heart shattering into a million pieces. The love of his life was leaving him. He watched as a young man pulled up in a fancy SUV. Jogging up her driveway, the man pushed his way past Nick and to Kayleigh. He watched as Kayleigh took him into his arms.

How could she do this to me?! How could I let her do this to me?!

Turning around, Nick walked with his head down to his car.

"If she can't love me... then no one can," he muttered to himself.

It was midnight and Nick drove to Kayleigh's house. His hands were sweaty and shaking as he opened his glove compartment. Reaching for the gun he looked at it. It was a gift from his father, it really wasn't meant as a killing weapon. It was merely so Nick could start his own collection.

Stuffing it into the pocket of his leather jacket he walked towards her house. He used the spare key to her house to get inside. Quietly opening her bedroom door, she was fast asleep. He'd remember the nights they'd lay down in that bed, her head on his chest just talking. Then there were the hot nights they'd share with of sweet passion swirling everywhere. They obviously couldn't share those moments anymore.

Grabbing the gun from his pocket, he stood over Kayleigh. He was so angry at her for breaking his heart. They had a future together. They were going to have four kids. Two boys named Nathan and Noah. Two girls named Kaitlin and Kassandra. They were all going to live in the big mansion in the mountains Nick was having built.

Holding the gun in his left hand he pointed it at her. The safety was off, his heart pouding. Closing his eyes, shot number one was fired and she screamed out in pain. Shot number two and she pleaded for help. Shot number three and she asked for God to help her. Shot number four and she made a groaning sound. Shot number five and silence. Shot number six and silence.

Opening his eyes he saw her once white sheets pure red in blood. Stuffing the gun in his pocket, he got out his cell phone.

"911 how can I help you?"

"I heard gunshots being fired in my girlfriends house, there was a man who was really tall running away I couldn't catch him, help please, he shot my girlfriend, help please, she's bleeding to death, " Nick lied as he started to sob.

Before the police and ambulances got there Nick jogged to his car and stuffed the gun back into the glove compartment. When they arriived, they questioned him and he lied like a pro. Telling them he just came home from a trip and went to visit her. Then as he approached her house he heard gunshots being fired. Going into her house he saw a shadowy figure running. Nick said maybe it was probably a burglar or rapist. Kayleigh was pronounced dead on the scene.

END FLASHBACK

Cassie's eyes flew open.

Kayleigh was haunting Nick for what he did to her. As a result of this incident, Nick's obsession for love grew worse. He was after Kayla now. Cassie could see into Nick's heart. There was a confused little boy inside wanting to be loved. There was also an evil monster triggering the evilness inside of him. Nick needed to be cleansed.

Looking out her window she saw him standing outside Kayla's apartment. Cassie closed her eyes again and attempted to go into Nick's soul. There was so much negativity and evil in him. It scared her to death.

Then she saw the little boy in the corner crying. If she could get through to him Nick could be delivered from evil.

"Hi there," Cassie said.

"Go away, leave me alone," Nick hissed.

"What's wrong young one?"

"Leave me alone."

"I've got some candy for you."

"Candy?"

"Yes candy."

She watched as the young boy got up and tentatively walked towards her. He was a young version of Nick, blonde hair, blue eyes. Except his eyes held fear behind them. Perhaps something from his childhood scarred him making him like this.

"Nick.. tell me what's wrong and I'll give you more candy."

"The monsters won't let me play."

"Monsters?"

"Uh huh them," he said pointing at the demons, "I wanna play but they won't let me."

"We'll just hafta do something about that now don't we?"

Nick stood hovering over Kayla sleeping body. The gun in his left hand ready to shoot. His arm was shaking and he felt the same way he did about a year ago, when he was standing over Kayleigh's sleeping body.

Don't leave me Kayleigh.

I don't love you anymore Nick.

He broke down. Nick fell to his knees and started to cry his eyes out, crying like a pathetic fool.

Kayla stirred and could have sworn she heard someone crying. Forcing her eyes open she saw a shadow by her bed and freaked out. She froze, what was she going to do?

"Oh God what am I?"

Nick? Kayla got even more frightened by the sound of his voice. How did he get here?

Gathering her up her guts, she slid out of bed and went to Nick's darkened figured. He was crying and holding a gun in his hand. Reaching out she grabbed his left hand and took the gun from him. Kicking him, she stood and pointed the gun at him.

"Go ahead shoot me, I don't deserve to live," he cried.

Kayla wanted to kill him. Goodness gracious, she wanted to shoot him to death. Something inside her told her not to. She stood there frozen in place and she saw Nick's body glow. His body started to spasm and she saw a dark light shoot out from his heart.

Kayla couldn't believe what she was seeing. Monsters and demons flew out of him, disappearing into thin air. After what seemed like years it finally stopped. Putting the gun down, she kneeled beside him. He was still breathing, looking at his wrists she saw deep bruises and scars.

"Nick?"

No answer.

Turning on the light, she had no idea what to do with him now. Then she heard a knocking at her door.

"Kayla, it's me Cassie open up please."

"Ummm.. hold on a minute."

Throwing a blanket over his body she went to open the door.

"Where is he?" Cassie asked.

"Who?"

"Nick where is he?"

"How did you know?"

Cassie easily found Nick and removed the blanket from him.

"Is he gonna be all right?" Kayla asked.

"Yes, good as new."

Nick felt the world slowly come alive to him. He groaned as he stretched his tense muscles. Opening his eyes he looked at his surroundings. Nothing looked familiar and he definitely wasn't on his bed. Sitting up, he realized he was still in the clothes he was wearing last night.

Bits and pieces of what happened came to him and he jumped on his feet only to find Kayla sleeping on the floor. She was still breathing and alive. Sitting back down he put his head in his hands. He had ruined it with her. He never did anything right.

Walking to the terrace he stared rain that poured heavily from the sky. Looking at the world before him, he was a good fifty feet from the ground. A few feet away to end the misery of his painful life. He thought of all the negative things that happened to him in his life.

He lost the love of his life. He lost his chance with Kayla. He had self esteem issues to deal with. What use was it living anymore?

It's not like anybody is going to miss me, he thought to himself.

"Nick."

Turning around he saw Kayla looking beautiful as always. Sure she reminded him of Kayleigh but there was something about her that was different. It triggered something inside of him. She looked so tiny and fragile.

"Are you okay?" she asked.

"Yeah."

"Cassie told me about the things that were going on inside you and that Kayleigh's spirit and demons possessed your soul making you act the way you did... that you had no control over it...."

"I'm sorry it had to be this way."

Kayla took his hand with hers bringing it to her cheek. His heart beat a little quicker as he gazed into her eyes.

"I'm willing to give you a second chance to see the real you."

Nick smirked. Hesitantly he leaned forward to capture her lips. This time she willingly accepted and kissed him back sending shivers up and down his body. A kiss has never affected him this way before.

Breaking away they looked into each others eyes. Taking her hand, he led her inside. Nothing stood in between them now.
